- As the owner of an A4000 with a CyberVision64, I say keep the A3000.
- Why do I say this? On the downside, the A3000 doesn't have AGA, or a 5
- 1/2" drive bay to hold a CD-ROM drive, and may or may not have a HD floppy. On
- the upside, the A3000 does have a built-in SCSI controller, and a built-in
- flicker fixer.
- With the CyberVision64, you can run ShapeShifter and ImageFX in full 24-bit
- color, if you've got the RAM for it. Also, you can use the v43
- picture.datatype to get true-color quality, which is especially handy when
- browsing the Web. Using it with AWeb works very well, and it looks amazing.
- Brilliance 2.0, sadly, will not work with the board, but you'll still have
- flicker-free display to use it on the ECS chipset.
- Speaking of which, you can buy yourself a nice 17" monitor and not have to
- worry about some dumb program or self-booting game popping up in NTSC/PAL.
- Also, from the sound of things, the A3000 will not get left out of the coming
- jump to PowerPC, and unlike the A4000, it can fall back to a CPU on the
- motherboard, for compatibility reasons.
